Workplace safety is of primary importance to Centra who goes above and beyond to reduce workplace injuries and claim costs.

Centra has developed and implemented a health and safety program and manual that effectively addresses the hazards found in their operations including best management practices for working in and around job sites. Safety site plans are developed for every job including handling of any hazardous materials which are managed according to Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), Canada’s national hazard communication standards.

Centra’s Safety Officer, Sukhi Hothi, is a COR certified auditor and has been with Centra for four years. COR, Certificate of Recognition, is a voluntary nationally recognized program which has been specifically designed to assist the construction industry in improving its safety culture.

Sukhi regularly conducts safety assessments on Centra’s job sites as well as attending Centra’s bi-monthly safety committee meetings.
